SSDs may the new term you started seeing on blogs lately. SSDs are the semiconductor solid-state hard drives that stores data just like your USB memory sticks.

Buffalo 100 GB SSD

The advantages of SSDs are that they are fast, take less power, have no moving parts and are very light.

Until this drive, solid-state drives were available only up to 64GB mark. Unlike other SSDs, this one is an external drive and uses USB connectivity to transfer data.

The only thing you will not like would be the price. It is expected to cost US $990.

Looks like SSDs are going to be the future of hard drives.
