Yeah you heard it right. iPhone has recently updated its apps store with the Text Relay app. For those who have not heard of it before, text relay service helps the deaf users to communicate easily.

IP-Relay is an exclusive service for the hearing impaired from the Purple Communication. Though it was launched 15 years back it is only now that the service is migrating to high end phones. iPhone is the first one to utilise this.

The comminity who used to text message to communicate now have a better option on the Apple smart phone. The easy call navigation menus and the enhanced call window displays the text with a special background that is easily comprehended.

The app is free to download from the Apple store. It is called IP-Relay.  Well this is another reason that will make iPhone ringing even among those who cant hear!

  2. Wow– this is truly remarkable for Purple! It would be neat for dead/hard of hearing people to use this app with iPad.
