Inverted desktop bowls sounds great. Thanks to inverted firing design (Read: speakers are inverted and facing down) that uses the desktop as the aural mirror to reflect sound to all sides. Because of the inverted firing design, you do not have to be directly in front of these speakers to enjoy the sound.  The sound is omni-directional.

Razer Mako THX 2.1 Speakers

Mako is Powered by THX Technology

The Razer Mako speakers are the first of its kind speakers developed by Razer Audio in association with THX that incorporates many new THX features. This speaker set works on the patented THX technologies named THX Ground Plane and THX Slot Speaker system that minimizes distortion and produce richer audio that you have never experienced with a 2.1 setup.

The Razer Mako also feature a ClassHD™ Digital Amplifier Technology, which intelligently manages the amplifier power to achieve greater power efficiency, lower distortion levels, and markedly better sound quality.

Razer Mako Delivers Powerful Sound

Five amplifiers, one for the main subwoofer and four for the satellite speakers power these un-usual, but beautiful looking speakers. Each satellite speaker is bi-amplified to minimize power drain during heavy bass signals. The satellite speakers are powered at 50W*2 each and the subwoofer at 100W, thus the total power rating of this speaker set is 300W RMS.

The Razer Mako comes with a touch sensitive wired remote where you can adjust volume and bass. The control pod also has connectivity options for line-in and headphones. Other than that, everything else is on the back of sub-woofer.

Razer plans to start selling these speakers at $400 from first half of 2008.
