Samsung Electronics, the world’s largest producer of TFT-LCD displays has developed a new LCD based panel that can detect X-Rays. Now medical labs don’t have to use old fashioned X-Ray films for diagnosis.

Samsung achieved this capability by transforming X-rays to digital signals and then to visible light through the use of TFT-LCDs. This means, with the help of this technology, X-ray images will be visible almost instantly for quick diagnosis than what would have normally required to process conventional X-ray films.
The flat panel X-ray detector (FPXD) has other uses other than in medial filed. For example, this technology would be of great use in security and industrial uses.
The FXPD has a dimension of almost similar of a 61cm widescreen LCD and produce the images of up to 9.4 Mega Pixels. (3072*3072 px)
Samsung expects to start production of this device in first quarter of 2008.

The new Samsung Flat Panel Detector from Vatech DR is the worlds Most efficient FPXD for the USA Human Medical Market. It can be used for numerous applications. This Flat Panel has the Highest Image Quality for the most reasonable price.
