Sony XEL-1 will become the industry’s first OLED television set that will retail in US consumer electronic market.
OLED technology promises to give better quality pictures in color, brightness and contrast than the popular LCD television technology. OLED TVs are also thinner and this television set is only few mm thick.

After the picture quality factor, the important difference between OLED TVs and LCD televisions would be in its viewing angle. OLED TVs are perfectly comfortable to watch even at 178-degree angles. This means it can produce quality pictures as if in our old CRT television sets at almost 180-degree angles.
Sony XEL-1 is also energy efficient. It takes only less than 25W to run this television set.
